Pedro Cauich Chim is our Asst. Manger. He speaks perfect English and acts as Spanish or Maya Translator for us and the guests. He has lived in the Yucatan, Cancun, Tulum areas all his life. He will be happy to assist you with any of your travels, directions, Bus schedules, taxis, air port shuttles, questions about the area, Phone calls (in spanish) and with your stay in the Inn.

I came, from Texas, to the Maya Riviera (before it was called Maya Riviera) and started my scuba diving here in 1985. I have over 1500 hours of bottom time in the area and in 1996 I was the biologist for an Information Video on the local Coral, Georgians and Sponges (It is still sold in Akumal). I built Tankah Inn (opened in 1997) to continue my exploration of the reefs of this area. I have lived in Mexico for over eleven years and I live at Tankah Inn part of the year where I breakfast with the guests when in residence. I am selling the Inn because of an allergy I have developed to sun light and will be sorry to leave my diving and the area. I have had some great times here.

Loida Ordonez Chan is your maid and she has worked as a Maid in the area for many years both in private residences, condos and hotels. She is very efficient and does marvelous art work with towels and flowers. She will attend to any needs you have in your rooms.

Francisco (Pancho) Alonso May Mex is our BREAKFAST chef and one great cook. His sauces both hot and mild are very flavorful delight and his breakfasts are as beautiful to see as they are delicious to eat. Pancho is from Sotuta, Yucatan, a small pueblo. He has been cooking for five years and works on his farm, west of Chemuyil, in the afternoons.

Oscar Yam Castilo is our gardener and handy man. He keeps our beaches pristine and makes sure the Beach loungers and hammocks palapa are always clean and ready for your use. He and Loida are doing the plant sculptures on the grounds. He helps with cleaning the windows, the halls and the stairs.
