CENOTES -- Cenote "Manatee" is a 3-minute walk from the Inn. Cenote "Dos Ojos" & Hidden Worlds are less than 15 minutes by car. Gran Cenote, Cenote Calavera, Cenote Cristal, Cenote Escondido and several others are less than 30 minutes from Tankah Inn. These and other cenotes form a geological wonder tagged as the largest underground-river system on the planet. You can swim, snorkel or scuba-dive in many of them.
Water activities here at Tankah are the most popular, varied and exciting. You can choose a simple swim in the calm waters of Tankah Bay, or you may want to go a bit further out and take out the snorkeling gear which we can provide here at Tankah Inn and row out in one of our kayacs to explore the breakwater reef only a few yards away.
If you feel snorkeling does not quite fill your expectations, and need a little more rush, here at the Inn we can arrange for a scuba-diving experience to any of the many sites that surround the area, reef, “Cenotes” or caves.
